News Flash: ALL Building in "West Bank" Frozen for Ten Months

Yom revi'i, 22 Kislev 5770.

Rumor has it that Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered that all Lego in Judea and Samaria are to be confiscated, to comply with Washington's demand that all building, even natural growth, should be halted.  There will be a protest in Kikar Pollard Paris this evening, which is expected to be heavily attended by disenfranchised 10- to 48-month-olds.

The most recent settlers, those in the holy outpost of Gilo, are starting to stockpile Lego for the anticipated protest-building.  The first streets to get their foundations on the ground are expected to be permitted to hang onto at least 86 boxes of the coveted Duplos.

Any civic-minded individuals traveling from the States are welcome to bring anti-freeze as a gift for Bibi.

Great tongue and cheek blog! You never know what this government will do. In the Hamodia last Shabbat there was a cartoon of a little boy building a sand house and Barak looking over the fence waving his finger no to him....

Now that I'm thinking about it in this new way that your excellent post inspired, will opening an umbrella on Shabbat also be outlawed?

Ooh, ladies! Nice examples. I like the halachic implications of the second example especially. What about turning on lights? This could get much more serious than I ever considered...

Ruth,

This was excellent! We have to check who Bibi paskins by, b/c wide-brimmed hats might become a no-no as well.

Nice of him to wait till after Sukkot, no?

BatAliyah you do realize that this means that in Ma'aleh Adumim one cannot even add an air conditioning unit to a flat?

It's all in G-d's 'hands' and with His help we'll overcome this too.

10 months means we'll just be in time to put up our sukkot....

Gilly - I wonder if he had that in mind. Nah. Probably not.

Hey! The boys in my youngest daughter's gan built a Beit Hamikdash out of blocks last night at the Chanukah party. Ah, but they also took it apart not long after. Maybe that was OK.

Will Bibi outlaw Kapla and other wooden building toys?

"And for the Talmid HaShavhua ("student of the week") we have someone who exemplified model behavior by knocking down everyone else's block castles..."

A perfect world.

Sabra - they gently took it apart because it was in the way of the next dance number. One of my favorite chanukah party dances is when they take gold-wrapped wooden blocks and build the temple with it, to music. But it's in the middle of the dance floor so it can't stay up the whole time!

Gan parties are really shows, not parties. :)

My comment was in response to the post, not the Beit Hamikdosh dance..
